D3 1.1.3 - Tesla Model S Plaid: Still a Dream Car

I know what you’re thinking…

Why do you want a Tesla Model S Plaid?

And I plan to get to that, but here are the reasons I DO NOT want a Tesla Model S Plaid…and maybe you shouldn’t!

3 Reasons Not To Get a Tesla Model S Plaid

Reason #1: The colors available are just a basic box of crayons.

Do you remember being a kid and visiting a restaurant with your parents?

The waiter gave you your menu with fun little games and mazes and a box of crayons that didn’t last the entire meal without breaking.

Elon remembered this and chose a basic color palette reminiscent of crappy restaurant crayons. 🤔

I hope cars don’t start coming boring neutrals the same way smartphones have.

Reason #2: The Minimal Interior is Not the MOST Luxurious.

I love luxury in a car.

Basically one of my driving factors in deciding if a car is right for me is the comfort and luxury experience inside.

Tesla is constantly tweaking and updating their cars, and the minimal, cheap quality of the interior is something they seem to be actively working to improve.

To be clear, If I had to get one of the crayon colors, and white interior, I would still get a Tesla and just order luxurious seat covers on Amazon.

Reason #3: Charging seems like a headache I don’t need.

I’ve been keeping an eye out for the number of Tesla-specific charging stations available in gas stations, housing properties, and other public places.

Marques Brownlee aka @MKBHD once stated that even with the Tesla Home charger, his car still needs the full time overnight to be fully charged.

So if you do a lot of late nights and early mornings, there is a chance you could wake up and your car still won’t be charged enough to go through your day.

This brings me to the third reason: electric vehicle charging in 2023 seems like a new headache I am not sure I want.

Especially since EV chargers aren’t commonplace in my area just yet.

So the real question is: Do I want to plan where I lived based on Tesla Supercharger locations?

Final Thoughts - STILL One of My Dream Cars

Now you may be thinking, Why is this Tesla important to you?

Because I still want the Model S Plaid, and if you have been eyeing the Model S Plaid, you should get it.

I love the tech and performance Tesla has been able to manufacture into an electric vehicle.

And I don’t want to talk about the speed because it seems like a dead horse at this point.

All I am saying is I want an electric car that’s fast enough to beat supercars.

What about you? Are you into EVs or supercars or electric supercars? Chime in on this debate in the comments below. ⬇️
