5.6.2023 - Dose of Growth

Some days you hop out of bed, ready to attack the day.

On other days, it’s like dragging your body through molasses to get out of bed.

And on those days, it’s even easier to cop out and not do what you said you would do.

It’s so easy to stay in bed under the warm covers and not function until late afternoon.

But you MUST show up if your goals are more important than how you feel right now.

Showing up for yourself when you would rather be sleeping the morning away is how you build trust and consistency with your work.

Everyone who has reached notable success showed up every day and created the life they wanted, just as you aspire to do.

After all, if you don’t do it, who will?

Start Quickly to Build Momentum

Who does your work for you when you succumb to the warm sheets and comfortable pleasures?

Who picks up your slack and covers all the tasks you left undone?

On the days when you feel sluggish, the goal isn’t to get everything done as fast as possible.

The goal is to start as quickly as possible and build momentum to get everything done.

Just show up and start something.

Once you get in the habit of starting, it gets easier to finish.

Use Sticky Notes to Stay Organized

One little habit that has saved me in these moments is using sticky notes.

Sticky notes are one of my favorite stationary items because they make capturing ideas easy!

Whenever I stop working for the day, I write down a list of things that need to get done during my next work session and put it right next to the trackpad on my computer.

On the other side of the trackpad is a list of all the content I need to work on; some content needs to be posted daily, and others are published weekly.

This simple habit has made it remarkably easy to start in the morning.

Finding a comfortable place to work and enjoying your favorite beverage is the easy part.

Sitting down and knowing what to work on can be where you find the most resistance.

Make it easier for yourself by always having a list of what to do in a place that’s hard to overlook.

Create Systems for Success

Part of showing up daily is removing the resistance and obstacles preventing you from doing the work.

Create workflow systems that make it easy for you to do the work.

Do this enough times, and you’ll start showing up even when the rest of the world sleeps.

You’ll experience the serenity of quiet mornings as you watch the sunrise.

And yes, the photos included were taken as I wrote today’s Dose of Growth.

The only thing standing in the way of what you want is you.

Get out of your way and go after the life you want!

Build the habit of starting quickly, staying organized, and creating systems for success.

Final Thoughts

Building consistency in your work routine is key to achieving your goals and living your desired life.

By starting quickly, staying organized with simple tools like sticky notes, and developing effective systems, you'll be better equipped to tackle each day with determination and focus.

Don't let momentary feelings of sluggishness hold you back.

Take action today to make consistent progress toward your dreams, and soon you will achieve your goals through determination and consistency and live the life you’ve always dreamed of!
