#11 - Get More Done in Less Time
Does this sound like you:
It isn’t easy to complete tasks in one sitting
I often find myself doom-scrolling on Instagram
It is hard to build the execution momentum that turns into a well-oiled machine.
If you can develop the skill of staying focused long enough to get through each task as fast as possible without sacrificing quality, you can get more tasks done in any given time frame.
Challenge yourself to build the habit of focusing on a task until it is complete.
Here are tips to help you optimize for focus:
Be intentional about your environment - Even if you like to work anywhere, create an environment that makes it easy to get lost in your work.
Free Outdoor Places to Work Remotely:
Parks
Outdoor seating at cafés
Free Indoor Places to Work Remotely:
Starbucks or Panera - whichever has the most outlets
Public Library
Hotel Lobby
A friend’s house
Listen to music without lyrics - Listening to podcasts, audiobooks, or your favorite songs can be more distracting than environmental noise.
Instead, you can try:
Classical Music
Lofi
Movie soundtrack instrumentals
Take breaks sparingly - Use breaks to give your mind a much-needed break, not to procrastinate on more work. Remember, do the work FIRST, then take your break.
Use breaks to:
Stretch
Meditate
Eat a snack
Use the bathroom
Do quick non-work-related tasks
Reward yourself for a job well done
Review your goals - Write down and review your goals often to help you find clarity and refocus your mind on what’s important.
Improve your focus TODAY by asking yourself:
What level of effort would it take for me to make $1 million per month?
